Bonnie Greene, of Mahopac, is an award winning artist specializing in portraits, pastels, oils and murals. Her gentle personality is expressed in her work, especially in her charming representations of children. She teaches art classes at the Scarsdale Adult School.
She studied drawing and painting in New York City at the Art Students League, the School of Visual Arts and the National Academy of Design. She worked at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, copying paintings by Vermeer, Renoir and Sir Thomas Lawrence, in order to learn from the old masters. In addition, she studied Japanese painting at Tokyo University of Arts.
