Yumi Iwamura uses oil or pastel with equal ease in her portraits, still lifes and landscapes. Her artwork -- serene and subtle, yet bold -- is a blend of the East and the West.
She has been commissioned to paint not just portraits of persons but also of homes, which are in popular demand.
She had her artistic training in Japan and later attended painting classes at SUNY Purchase. She is a frequent award winner in local shows.
